This batch of photos is from my drive down the coast of California, including a few pictures of the Henry Miller Memorial Library, various images in Big Sur, some photos of Santa Cruz Island, one of five islands that make up Channel Islands National Park, and the graffiti and date palms that I wrote about in my most recent post. Oh, and two images from Venice Beach. Enjoy.
This is just somewhere along Route 1 in Big Sur. There were about a half million points to turn off, but I only chose two on my way to Santa Ana, where I spent the night after leaving Berkeley.
Henry Miller Memorial Library on Route 1. Honestly I feel like this was the single most important place for me to visit on the entirety of my trip that has been ongoing for the past nine months (those is shortly about to end). Absolutely love Miller. By far my most favorite author. The library is at Miller’s old friend, Emil White’s place. They host concerts, movie viewings, lectures and any other event one might think of to bring people together.
It’s a beautiful, sweeping curve, is it not?
A library cat.
Santa Ana hotel.
The boat ride out to Santa Cruz Island. Numerous Common Dolphin were seen, as well as a couple Humpback Whales, and many unidentifiable sea birds.
